On Patience

"Great people are great because they have a habit of waiting for long with patience (sabr)."

I listened to this today only while sitting in the company of some great people... :) And there is so much to write about the sitting but as usual I will avoid doing that because I am still overwhelmed...

There's something about Sabr that I heard from a scholar at one time in my life and it still is kind of a touchstone for me. To see actually in how much water do I stand. The scholar said that everyone can do Sabr in tough times, even a person who is not a Muslim but only a Momin is not only patient in tough times but also when he is ecsatatic i.e. extremely happy.
And whenever I'm happy and lose control, I realise where I stand when it comes to Sabr, Imaan and Taqwa.
Allah Ta'ala hum sab ko naik banaye aur amal-e-saleh kerne ki taufeeq ata farmaye. Ameen
Aameen. And jazakillah for sharing such wisdom.
