Running Away...

... And in my thoughts, I replied:

"Yes, one has to run away at times when one lacks options in life. Specially, when one is scared to death of one's weaknesses - one's own self. Nafs after all, is the greatest of all deceivers. But running away does not always mean losing oneself. Instead at times it brings coherence in life. Who knows running away might make one bump into hope. Who knows this running away might turn out to be my turning away from hopelessness to hope. Who knows it might bring fulfillment at last, insha'Allah..."

Sometimes, we indeed need to give it a break. To look away rather than pushing through.
It also helps a lot in our catharsis.

Running away? the question is: from what?
nafs! You can't run away from that. You have to tame it, that's what Mufti Taqi Usmani Sahab says. He says that you can't kill your desires but you can crush them to the level where they lose their power over your mind and heart!

Thats so rightly put. What seems running AWAY might as well turn out to be running TOWARDS life...
