A Voice of Hope!

Answers to the questions that keep bugging our minds come from strange places. I have been a little worried about certain things lately, and today I stumbled upon these verses by Imam al-Shafa'i rahimahullah on this blog. The verses have left me speechless. They clarify many confusions and pave way for some clarity, at least, at this point in time. Alhamdulillah.
“The intelligent and refined find no rest in dwelling in one place,
So leave your homeland and travel far away!
Travel and you will meet new people replacing those left behind,
And tire yourself out, because it makes life worth living!
I have seen that water stagnates when it stands still,
Yet when it runs it is sweet and pure.
And if the lion left not its land,
it would not catch its prey
And if the arrow left not the bow,
it would not hit its aim
And if the sun moved not across the horizon,
People the world over would have tired of the sky.”
- Imam Shafi

Gone are the days when people traveled to far off places in search of Sheikh.

Aslm,

very inspiring poem indeed,

but can you throw light into making it a bit more obvious...there are some aspects of travel that it is better to be avoided if possible (I know hazrat thanvi rah atleast) for it disturbs ma'moolaat and causes unease...

In a muslimah's context travel is to be addressed with more caution...

search of sheikh...well, people do it of course, with modern travel modes making it easier...hazat peer zulfiqar sab db has lakhs of followers across the world, for an instant example...

nevertheless, any specific intent of the poem that hazat imam shafi wanted to convey would be great please...and your impressions would be welcome to learn...I am asking all this because the lines are particularly relevant to me in a certain context...

jazaakAllahu khaira for the post..
The greatness of this poem lies in the fact that it could be applied to multiple spiritual and personal situations/conditions that one finds him/herself in.

I stumbled upon this poem when it was decided that I would be moving to another, unknown place as a result of a change that is bound to occur in every (or most of the people) individual's life. Initially I had some apprehensions, but this poem made me feel that all one needs is a strong connection with ALLAH SWT and He creates ease in all matters - no matter how difficult they appear to be. Hence, my title of the post, A Voice of Hope ...
Oh I see...may Allah swt make every journey of your life...physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual...filled with ease, motivation and His(swt) utmost pleasure...aameen
JazaakAllahu khairan wa ahsan al Jaza
