Divide and rule - Not Again!
I do not write much about politics nor do I like 'discussing' politics with people. I have developed a certain aversion to the process that people call 'arguing'. Probably that is why, I am not a very good public speaker. However, not writing or discussing about politics does not mean I do not think about it... =) That, I do. I am no analyst, nor do I wish to be one. But some recent events have compelled me to write a few lines about two scholars who were martyred just a couple of days ago. So here's a short post that I just wrote...
Aurya Maqbool Jan on Dr Naeemi's martyrdom. Read on. I personally, however, feel that Maulana Orakzai's killing was also a part of the chain events. i.e. the way it all happened. Right after the martyrdom of Maulana, Dr Naeemi was made the target. And apparently the TTP operating in Orakzai claimed the responsibility of carrying out the suicide bombings. Imagine the audacity. It shows that it was all a planned attempt to create a rift between two schools of thought. But inshaAllah that won't happen. As long as we have sane voices like that of Aurya Maqbool Jan (and I hope he remains this way because nowadays... well, you never know...). We all know that the two scholars belonged to two different schools of thought but both of them were highly respected by all the schools of thought. It is an irrevocable loss, indeed.
Also, listen to Gen. Hameed Gul who actually predicted this move.
So... Once again we are being blown up from within. I ardently pray to Allah SWT that it does not happen. And I request you all to do the same. May Allah bless this Ummah, forgive its sins and heal its wounds. Aameen.
And I wonder, who is it that our media is answerable to. The kind of 'responsibility' it is displaying in the current tumultuous situation is indeed shocking. The way the news is broken. The headlines that are pasted. The terminology that is used. It is frustrating and it is stupid of us to expect the media to come up with anything sane that could keep order, and not do otherwise.
Those reading this should feel free to correct me if they find any flaws with my way of thinking. This inconsiderable would be highly obliged.
