Only for the sake of Love...

Auliya Allah (the friends of Allah) always have a wonderful way of explaining things. Even their silences are filled with meaning that is never exhausted. In today's lecture, Maulana Ibrahim Saheb said something so profound that it actually answered so many of my questions. He was emphasizing on the practice of the sunnah of Rasul-Allah sallAllahu alaihe wassalam, when he explained as to how Love is the only driving force behind 'amal (practice). His words are still resonating in my heart and mind:

...عشق کبھی دلیل نہیں مانگتا. عاشق کا کام بس عمل کرنا ہوتا ہے

1. Hazrat Imam Shafi khamosh bahtay thay k kisi nay kaha Imam! Koi naseehat hi ki jiye. Imam nay kaha k jo shaks meri khamoshi say faida nahi utha sakta, wo meri naseehat say sabak lay ga.

2. Moulana Taqi Usmani keh rahay thay k Shaitan k pas bas yahi eik "Aein (a letter)" nahi tha, yoon tu us k pas alim bhi tha, aql bhi thi, irfan bhi tha, bas "ishq" nahi tha!

I have been thinking of resuming writing for quite some time now and today I finally mustered up the courage to visit the 'create post' page of my blog. Company - Ba-gul Nashistan

Company or more specifically suhbah is a phenomenon whose effects are difficult to describe. There is this teacher of mine who always says that 'environment is silent speech' and I always used to think how right he was... The effects and impacts are so subtle that one does not even notice how one gets transformed without noticing it ever. There are few verses by Shaykh Sa'adi (rahimahullah) that I came across in a book called, Bayt ki haqeeqat . I am compelled to write them on my blog. The poetry is extremely beautiful and rhythmic. Someone who has ever experienced such company would testify to the truth contained in the verses of this hikaayat .
