The Rain...
So, it came again yesterday. Everyone around was so happy because the weather had become very hot lately. It continued today. And with much intensity. And yet again it played havoc with the lives of the people. We remained safe. Alhamdulillah. But those who were affected, who could realise their plight. I do not even myself capable of empathising with them. How can I ? I know someone ... let us call her Z. For some unknown reasons, I have always considered her to be very close to me. We are entirely different in all ways. We share absolutely nothing in common. She was one of the affectees of this year's monsoon. And now she must have been hit hard again. I haven't got to know about her. Probabaly will get to know something in the morning but the point which I am pondering on is that this is the first 'ashara of the blessed month - the first ten days of Rahmah: His Unconditional Mercy ... In the times we live in, Rains are no more a blessing... Why? Probably because of 'us'! Those who remain safe (including me) always live under the illusion of a false sense of security. Yes, I say false because it just takes a fraction of a second for things to topple. Just like it just takes even less than that for Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala to change the hearts of His men...
"Yaa Muqqallib ul quloobi thabbit qalbi 'alaa deenik"
Today when it was raining very heavily, I received an sms from Salwa saying, "may this rain be a blessing for all of us! aameen" ... No matter how worse the matters - both the spiritual and physical - get, we cannot stop hoping. Hope is something that makes us go on. A gift of Allah, "which becomes the reason for not killing ourselves!" (somebody I know once defined 'hope' in this way...)
May Allah SWT help us see the wisdom in the tribulations that visit us. aameen

True... It was even worse than being nightmarish. I was thinking about all those who actually lost their lives. Somebody at my father's office told him about their relative who was a young guy and had went outside for work on the day of the rain. He never returned. The next day his dead body was handed over to his relatives. It was heart wrenching to hear that. May Allah save us all and may He bless each and everyone of us in all possible ways - both in this world and the Hereafter.
May Allah bless us all.
Allah Ta'aala hum sab oer rehem kare.Ameen
