A Dream...

When the night is completely dark,
It finds them staying up in the night
Fear has chased away their sleep
So they stay up
While those who feel secure in this life
Quietly sleep on.

-Ibn Al-Mubarak

The first thought that struck my mind on waking up in the morning today:

A dream of spiritual fulfillment ends up in a heart filled with grief, sorrow and tears ...

With the grief being of being involved in worldly affairs, sorrow of not following the commands of Allah SWT, and tears for not striving for attaining Raza-e-Ilahi...

Hmmmm great share indeed - I feel it's not actually possible to sleep completely peacefullly for anyone with Imaan - as they would feel like wastin time thinkin life is so very unpredictable. Some are havin retless nights because of their actions N bad deeds.

a good point, but let's not forget that the night is a blessing from allah in two folds:
It is chance for the body to heal / energise itself through sleep (some would say it is a form of ibadah - especially when waking to read the witr prayers) but it is also a chance to ask allah through the night:
'Tomorrow is not 'just another day'
it brings another night
to bow down, search and pray
another night to find my way'
